What is Displacement Current

 What is Displacement Current?

A changing electric field in vacuum or in a dielectric also produces a magnetic field. This implies that a changing electric field is equivalent to a current, which flows till the electric field is changing. This equivalent current produces the same magnetic effects as a conventional current in a conductor is known as displacement current.

The SI unit of displacement current is the ampere (A)

Applications:

Understanding electromagnetic waves, such as radio waves and light.

Explaining the behavior of capacitors and their role in circuits.
